Cuisinart DCC-3000

12- Cup Programmable | Coffee on Demand

DCC-3000 ReviewIf you’ve ever owned a single cup coffee brewer, (looking at you k-cup Keurig type machines) then you know how easy it is to make a single cup.

However, what about when you want more than a cup? Or God forbid you have several guests? You know how much of a pain it is to dispense the hot coffee grinds and make another cup.

If this scenario is all too familiar than you should consider the Cuisinart DCC-3000. This coffee maker lets you choose how much coffee you would like to pour into your cup with just a press of a button, but you can add more coffee grounds into the permanent, cup-cake shaped, gold filter to make up to 12 cups.

The thing you’ll immediately notice is the actuator on the the front. Which is kind of like fuel gauge, except it tells you how much coffee is in the reservoir inside the machine. Some users have complained that it can be off sometimes.

Another big plus is that it prevents your coffee from burning while keeping it hot inside the reservoir (it doesn’t warm your cup). Your coffee can stay hot at the optimum temperature of 190° degrees. Which is a little on the hot side (180° being ideal). So, if you prefer piping hot coffee, this is your machine.

It is carafe free and doesn’t need much space. Perfect for those who only need a cup at a time on the go, hate cleaning carafes, and low on counter real estate.

It comes apart very easily. The water tank on the side is removable. Then inside the filter comes out, and under that plastic cone and reservoir can be removed to be thoroughly cleaned. Keep in mind there is a self cleaning button to descale when necessary. The water reservoir takes charcoal water filters that are provided too.

The DCC-3000 is programable, easy to clean, practical and well designed.

Some people complained about how the cord is too short, but it is important to know that you must pull the cord to make it longer, depending on how long you want it to be.

Another problem that was reported was that it leaked. Which honestly, happens to many coffee makers. Good thing Cuisinart comes with a 3 year warranty.

Cuisinart CHW-12

12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker - With Hot Water System

CHW-12p1Got some tea drinkers in the house? How about hot cocoa or instant oatmeal? If so, then the CHW-12 coffee maker should be your top choice.

It has all the typical programmable features you’d want in a coffee maker, offering auto-on and automatic shutoff. There is also a feature that lets you know when it’s time to clean, or descale, the machine. Lastly, it has auto-pause, which allows you to sneak a cup before it’s done completely brewing.

Another unique feature is the ability to control the temperature of your carafe, which comes in handy if you add cold milk or live at high altitudes.

The separate hot water side that lets you heat water for a cup of cocoa, tea or instant coffee for those that just drop by unannounced that “just happened to be in the neighborhood”.

When warming hot water in a plastic tank you’re bound to get some of that flavor. Many of us are used to it or add a lot of cream & sugar to the coffee so it’s not noticeable. However, if you’re sensitive to plastic taste then skip this model if you plan on making tea often.

Another issue that was raised a lot was the light for the water reservoir coming on, saying it was empty, when it was full. Users said unplug the machine for a bit, and empty the water tank to reset the sensor. Others returned it.

Cuisinart DCC-1100

Cuisinart DCC-1100BK Programmable

dcc-1100Yes, this is yet another Cuisinart programmable coffeemaker. This one is packed with many of the good Cuisinart coffee maker features. It comes with a permanent gold tone filter, and charcoal filters to provide better tasting water, which in turn gives better tasting coffee.

Simplicity is the key to the DCC-1100. It is easy to use and delivers 12 cups at a time, but has an auto-pause feature to sneak a cup before finishing the full pot.

Its carafe is especially designed for more comfort. It comes with an ergonomic handle, dripless spout and knuckle guard. Decreasing the chances of you dropping your carafe or dripping coffee while pouring. It also comes with an auto-shutoff feature, so there is one less thing to worry about on your rush out the door.

There are several models of the DCC-1000. The DCC-1100 is the white model. The DCC-1100BKP1 is the same thing, but with a black finish. Finally, there is the DCC-1150BKP1 10-cup thermal carafe.

Everything else is essentially the same with these 3 DCC-1100 Cuisinart coffee makers. The 12 cup carafe is the same size and the charcoal filters are the same size too.

Cons

Some users complained about the DCC-1100BK1 10-cup thermal carafe not being hot enough. To combat this, users fill the carafe with hot water to warm it first.

Others issues were the glass carafes collecting condensation and spilling, which quite honestly is an issue with many coffee makers in the price bracket. However, the design flaw of the carafe only opening 90° and is close to where you add coffee grounds seems to be an issue for some.

Cuisinart DGB-625BC

Grind-and-Brew 12-Cup Automatic Coffeemaker

DGB-625BC grinder coffee makerThis machine is a compact combo of a grinder and a coffee machine, giving you the option of grinding your own coffee beans. You can set it to automatically grind the beans before brewing.

What makes this coffee maker special is the shower head water dispenser which distributes the water evenly over the coffee grounds. This feature allows the water to pass through the coffee grinds evenly for optimal extraction.

When you pair this feature with freshly ground beans, & the built in charcoal filter, the result is great coffee. Which is why the DGB-625BC is one of the best Cuisinart coffee makers.

The DGB-625BC comes in 2 carafe sizes, 10 & 12 cup. It’s also available with a thermal carafe in 10 or 12 cups as well.

PROS

Cons

Cons

Having freshly ground beans is great. Except when you wake up at 6am and have to hear the roaring noise of crushing coffee beans.

There were reports that the steam rising from the hot water tank would moisten the beans and clog the grinder. This is common issue with most coffee maker+grinder in one machines.

This model is It is very easy to use and program as well. The Cuisinart DCC-2650 is one of the more straightforward coffee makers, with the ability to brew about 25% faster than other models.

PROS

Cons

Cons

Since this model makes coffee very fast, some users have complained of coffee grounds overflowing into their cup.

Another common complaint was that the coffee wasn’t hot enough with the thermal carafe. However, the instructions state that carafe must be removed from the hot plate and the lid is supposed to be kept closed to retain heat.

Cuisinart DCC-3200

Perfectemp Coffee Maker, 14 Cup Programmable with Glass Carafe, Stainless Steel

best cuisinart coffee maker dcc-3200The DCC-3200 is the most popular Cuisinart model for over 5 years. Having made some minor changes to improve the overall quality of the machine.

The reason it is such a popular model is due to it’s ease of use and durability. Users swear by it. Also, there are little features like back lit buttons, turn off the beeping tone, self cleaning, auto-shutoff as well as other common features.

The DCC-3200 is so popular that Cuisinart makes variations of the same model, but it’s essentially the same. When I called Cuisinart they explained that some models, like the CBC-7000PC, are essentially the same machine. The features are the same, the front button layout is a bit different.
