First Impressions

Dunkin’ Original Blend is a balanced, easygoing cup. The taste is gentle and mild, with a soft body and a light bitterness that never turns harsh. It feels smooth in the mouth, and the acidity stays calm.

It will not satisfy anyone who wants a strong coffee. As a breakfast cup it does the job, though the aroma in our sample was faint and seemed to lack freshness.

What’s in the Pod

Original Blend is a medium roast made from 100% Arabica beans and certified kosher by the Orthodox Union. Dunkin’ does not say which countries the beans come from, and it publishes no roast or body scores.

Dunkin’ started as a single donut shop in Quincy, Massachusetts, in 1950, and calls Original Blend the coffee that made it famous. The J.M. Smucker Company makes the K-Cups under license, and Dunkin’ says the pods are roasted and blended to match the coffee brewed in its shops.

Each pod holds about 0.37 ounces of ground coffee, based on retailer listings for the 10-count and 22-count boxes. The pods fit any Keurig K-Cup brewer.

Drawbacks

  • It is mild by design. Dark roast drinkers may find it thin, and it does not stand out from other supermarket coffees.
  • The aroma in our sample was faint.
  • Prices vary a lot between Amazon sellers. Several bulk packs are sold by third parties, and in September 2026 the 128-count pack cost more per pod than the 88-count pack sold by Amazon.
  • Costco.com hides the price unless you are logged in as a member.

Who It Is For

Original Blend suits hosts and offices that need one coffee most people will drink without complaint. The Costco 72-count box and the Amazon bulk packs fit a break room or a household that goes through several pods a day.

Where to Buy Original Blend

Common Original Blend questions

How much caffeine is in a Dunkin' Original Blend K-Cup?

A Dunkin' Original Blend K-Cup has roughly 75 to 150 mg of caffeine in an 8-ounce cup. That is the range Keurig gives for its coffee pods in general, since Dunkin' does not publish a figure for this pod. Brewing a larger cup from the same pod mostly adds water, so it tastes weaker.

Is Dunkin' Original Blend strong?

Dunkin' Original Blend is a mild coffee, not a strong one. It is a medium roast, and in our tasting it came across gentle and smooth, with a soft body and calm acidity. People who usually drink dark roasts may find it thin and should pick a darker Dunkin' K-Cup instead.

What kind of coffee is Dunkin' Original Blend?

Dunkin' Original Blend is a medium roast made from 100% Arabica beans. Dunkin' calls it the coffee that made the brand famous, and says the K-Cups are blended to taste like the coffee brewed in its shops. The J.M. Smucker Company makes the pods under license, and each one holds about 0.37 ounces of coffee.

Is Dunkin' Original Blend just black coffee?

Yes, a Dunkin' Original Blend K-Cup brews plain black coffee. Retailer listings give the only ingredient as coffee, with no sugar, cream or flavoring added. Each pod holds about 0.37 ounces of ground medium roast. Dunkin' suggests adding your own creamer and sweetener if you like your coffee that way.

Does Costco sell Dunkin' Original Blend K-Cups?

Costco sells Dunkin' Original Blend K-Cups in a 72-count box, item 2196771. Costco.com shows the price only to logged-in members and notes the warehouse price may be lower than the delivered price. On Amazon, the 88-count pack of Dunkin' Original Blend costs $50, about $0.57 a pod, in September 2026.
